FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

At what age can a child start to attend your preschool?

We admit children from 12/18/24 months (depending on the branch).

When is it optimal to start learning English language?

It generally applies that it is best to start as early as possible. Many studies suggest the optimal age is approx. 2 years.

Won’t a child be stressed when he/ she begins without any knowledge of English?

Absolutely not. Children of this age approach a foreign language in a completely different way than older children. In the framework of the adaptation process, verbal communication takes only about 20 – 30% of all communication (according to the age of a child). The other components of non-verbal communication – e.g. the context, gesticulation, mimicry, etc. as well as the group of friends, etc. - always allow a child to find out or guess the situation. Of course, a fully qualified and experienced teacher also assists in this. The adaptation process takes weeks to months. We approach every newly admitted child with maximal care, and we guarantee parents that no other child will be admitted until their child fully joins the groups.

Should I speak English with my child at home or prepare the child in any other way?

If you are not bilingual, it is better not to teach him or her anything because your child could learn mistakes, etc. On the contrary, it is good to develop and improve the child’s expressions in the Czech language.

Can a child attend the preschool fewer than five days a week?

Yes. However, learning, information perception and knowledge of English can only be effectively ensured by attendance 4 - 5 days a week.

How are children divided into classes?

Children are separated into three to four classes according to their age and knowledge.

How is continuation in English teaching ensured after completion of the preschool?

We will ensure/recommend to our clients continuation at elementary school in two language options.

What is the number of children per teacher?

For children under 2 years of age, 3 children per teacher; for older children, no more than 6 children per teacher.

Do you also admit children during the year?

Yes, we admit children at any time during the calendar year. A condition is that the capacity of the preschool allows the admission of a new child. If the preschool’s capacity is filled, we will offer an alternative solution or add the child to the waiting list. The capacity of the preschool for September is usually filled during January – March. We therefore recommend all persons interested to reserve a place in advance. Therefore, please check our Special Offer that offers clients who decide in advance more advantageous conditions.
