Born July 27, 1978, in Prague. After finishing his studies at secondary business school, he studied law and economics in the framework of dual studies at a German university. He was an external worker for Czech Television and the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.

He gained his first work experience at the European Court of Human Rights attached to the Council of Europe in the French Strasbourg and at the Defense Ministry of the Czech Republic. Then he pursued building development activities and practiced at several law offices. He also stayed in Australia for a long period.

Since 2005, he has held the post of executive director of BRIGHT INVEST, a.s. and KinderGarten, s.r.o., where he was responsible for the development of the English language and corporate preschool project. The number of preschool branches increased from one to 12 branches in total under his management. He is single. Among his hobbies are traveling, sports and history.

Bc. Michaela Konrádová

Born in 1986 in Nymburk. After her studies at Charles University's Faculty of Science, she started studying economics and management. During her studies she assisted with organizing various activities for children.

She used her work experience at KinderGarten s.r.o., where she worked at the post of an assistant to the executive director in 2007 - 2009. She is single. Her hobbies include skiing, cycling and travelling.

Born in 1981 in Prague. She graduated from the College of Social Pedagogy and Pedagogical Faculty in Prague, specialization Pedagogy and the Arts. During her studies, she managed a tourist club, an arts and movement clubs and organized summer camps and weekend events for children and youth.

After completion of her studies, she worked as a teacher at a preschool at Trnava. Then she traveled abroad for one year and studied the English language. In recent years, Jana completed several courses as the main supervisor of out-of-school activities; she also teaches skiing and water rafting.

Helena Bílková

Nurse and Teacher Helena Bílková

Born in Brandýs nad Labem. She graduated from the College of Social Pedagogy – specialization social care. During her studies, she organized summer camps and weekend events for children and youth. Helena has comleted the course of Main camp leader and other courses including the motivation of children and youth.

She worked as an assistant in Maternity centre for two years and managed a tourist club in Brandýs nad Labem.

Shannon Burke

Shannon is a native english speaker from Stratford, New Jersey in the United States. She graduated in 2009 with a bachelors degree from the Ruchard Stockton College of New Jersey and arrived in Prague in September 2010.

She is TEFL certified and has experience teaching english to children from the preschool to secondary school levels. She also worked for an afterschool program in the US providing homework assistance to children ages 5-10.

Kieran Cook

Kieran was born in the South of England in 1984. After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in health/fitness and sport and exercise rehab he gained work experience as a health professional in physiotherapy working for the National Health Service. Kieran later moved to Chiang Mai, Thailand where he taught first young adults, then children from 3 to 12 years old. His last position was as head of physical education at Ambassador bilingual elementary school in Chiang Mai.

Kieran says ‘he loves working with children because you can see the difference you make in their lives. They absorb information so readily and are always ready to surprise you and make you laugh’. ‘Working with children is never boring and presents new challenges every day’.
His hobbies include running, football, sketching, reading and cooking.

B.A. Megan Flottorp

Megan is a native speaker from Saskatchewan, Canada. In May 2011, she graduated from The University of Saskatoon with a honours Bachelor of Arts in English. During her studies, she volunteered at a non-profit organization teaching English classes to refugee and immigrant women and organizing after-school art programs for their children.

Megan is also fluent in French and worked as a French tutor over the course of her education. She relocated to Prague upon completion of her University degree and has since become TEFL certified and has had experience working with children in both a preschool and secondary school setting. She loves working with children because she is fascinated by their creativity and energy. She writes poetry and short stories in her spare time and enjoys attending live music performances. She also has a love for the outdoors and is excited to explore more of the Czech countryside!

Pavla has been working with children more than ten years. Thanks to her studies at the College of Social work she has a lot of experience in many areas of social work. At the Technical University of Liberec she studied „Leisure time pedagogy“. This year she has finished MA study of „Adult education“ in Prague.

For several years she worked as an instructor of class field trips, one day camps and weekend actions for parents with children. She has experience as an au-pair and also as an English preschool teacher. Her hobbies include tennis, skiing and travelling.

Martina Bernátek Topičová

She was born in September 21th in 1978. Martina graduated in management high school in Koprivnice. Then she was studying English at Komenskeho Academy. In 2003 she moved to Great Britain where she started working with children as an aupair.

In next 5 years she was working as a professional nanny for lots of different international employers , she has a huge experience with children of all kind of ages, cultures and backgrounds. Also had been voluntary worker at UK preschool. In the summertime she used help with organization of summer kids camps, mainly horse riding. Later she gained experience in work with disabled children while was staying in Australia.
Meanwhile she was helping out students at Krnov High School with English and preparing them for the A Level exams. Finally she worked as an assistant at Swiss preschool for autistic child with Asperger syndrome and also had been his private nanny. She spent 7 years abroad.

Samantha Alvarez

Samantha is a native speaker from Chicago, Illinois. She studied at Northwestern University before moving to Prague in February of 2011. She loves working with children and has lots of previous experience working with preschool aged children. As a part of the Maxikova team she hopes to create a fun, friendly and exciting learning experience for her students.

Samantha is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish fluently and she is currently studying Czech and French. In her spare time she enjoys reading, cooking, painting and attending concerts and art galleries. She especially loves to be outdoors running, hiking or simply walking through the park.

Erika Fulton

Erika Fulton is a native English speaker from the United States, and a graduate of Miami University, where she studied English/Creative Writing. She has several years of experience working with children.

Her aim is to help children learn by using all their senses, stimulating each child's own unique creativity and imagination to promote the best and most efficient learning possible. Erika is looking forward to a productive and exciting school year at Maxikova skolka.
In her spare time, Erika enjoys kickboxing, hiking, writing, dancing, swimming, and attending music festivals. She is an experienced flute player and lover of all the arts.

Virginia Head

Virginia is a native speaker from Minneapolis, Minnesota. She studied at the University of Minnesota before moving to Prague in September of 2011. She loves working with children and is so blessed to be a part of their experience as they grow and learn about the world around them. As a part of the Maxikova team she hopes to create a fun, loving and interesting learning experience for her students.

Virginia also speaks conversational Italian, is currently studying Czech, and would love to also learn Spanish, French, and German. In her spare time she enjoys dancing, films, reading, cooking, and attending the opera. She loves to learn new things and take on new challenges, even if it's just trying a new recipe!

Johana Laugesen

Nurse and Teacher

Johana was born in Prague in 1970. Trained as a physiotherapist, she worked for several years at the Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine, where she mainly cared for post-heart surgery patients. In 1996 Johana moved to Denmark, where she worked first as an au pair in a Danish family and then in a Norwegian family. In Copenhagen she also conducted a swimming course for babies.

After her return to Prague, Johana worked as a physiotherapist with children that have postural deficiencies, scoliosis and other spinal disorders. Johana spends most of her free time with her two children doing sports. Favorites are cycling, swimming and yoga. Johana speaks Danish, English and some Italian. She enjoys art, photography and takes an interest in Ayurvedic medicine.

Bc. Monika Černá

Monika was born in Mělník. She graduated with a degree in the field of Psychology and Special education from the Charles University in Prague in 2010. After her studies, she worked as an au pair in Switzerland for one year.

Monika enjoys preparing leisure activities for children of various ages. She led Psychical Education in a kindergarten and primary school, has been also involved in organizing and leading summer camps both in the Czech Republic and abroad. She gained a lot of experience working with disabled children as a volunteer.

At the present time she is a volleyball team coach for children´s volleyball club, in her spare time.

Monika is a nutritional adviser and director of Wellnessia s.r.o. She specializes on nutritional advisory, healthy diets and personal coaching in the area of wellness. She is a member of Alliance of Nutrition Advisors, co-worker of company Penam; she regularly publishes in the press and gives lectures.

Monika cooperates with Maxikova Preschool as an external specialist. Currently, we are working on a new meal plan for all our branches. You can contact her for advice in the following areas:
  • children’s nutrition and health prevention
  • complete reduction programs – healthy diet and personal plan for maintenance of achieved weight, long-term change of eating habits
  • personal meal plansweight loss, acquisition of muscle mass, detox, ...)
  • sports nutrition, support of health condition (alimentary allergies, high pressure, diabetes prevention,...)
  • supplement plan assembled based on analysis of condition and health condition – help with choosing suitable nutrition supplements (weight loss, detox and cleansing of organism, sports, energy, prevention)

MUDr. Alexandra Moravcová


Clinic pediatrician, endocrinologist and obesity specialist, external specialist

She graduated from the Faculty of Pediatrics at Charles University in Prague and works for the Pediatric Clinic of the General Hospital in Prague, Ke Karlovu 2, Prague 2.

During her practice, she completed an obesitology course, a behavioral psychotherapy course and an acupuncture course. MUDr. Moravcová is a member of the Healthy Nutrition Forum and the Children’s Nutrition association and also a member of the pediatric, endocrinology and obesitology associations of JEP and a member of the editorial board of the Health journal.

MUDr. Martin Tomeček


Dentist, external specialist MUDr. Martin Tomeček

MUDr. Tomeček works for Asklepion - Clinic and Institute of Aesthetic Medicine as the Deputy Head Physician of the Dental Department that he joined after graduation from the First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague.

He acquired his foreign work experience at the GKT School of Medicine and Dentistry (UK, 2002) in Dubai (UAE, 2007 - 2008) and currently has his regular office hours not only in Prague but also in London. He performs professionally practical dentistry specialized in implantology and parodontology. He lectures as an external lecturer in dental surgery within the dentistry education at the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University. He is a member of professional associations of the Czech Dental Chamber, the Implantology Club of the Czech Republic and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
